Dundle Hill Walk

Welcome to Waitomo's 2-Day Walk.

Come and experience the beautiful Waitomo landscape venturing along trails that lead you through lush native bush, unique limestone formations, caves forestry and farmland. The clearly marked walk is 27 km long and Kay's cabin is situated halfway - high up in the bush on Dundle Hill. Magnificent views of the surrounding country side await you at this new 38 bunk cabin. The walk starts and finishes in the waitomo village and would suit adventurous people, young and old. School and corporate groups, families and friends - all are catered for.

Kay's Cabin 

Facilities provided:

  • Cabin sleeps 38 (4 bunk rooms)

  • No electricity

  • Showers (cold) and flush toilets

  • Fresh drinking water

  • Wood burner for heating

  • 4 Gas elements for heating food and water

  • Cell phone coverage at the cabin

  • Tent sites available

  • Cleaning equipment

Schools need to bring:

  • food

  • bedding 

  • cooking utensils

  • crockery and cutlery

  • teatowels

  • dishwashing liquid

  • toilet paper

  • first aid kits

  • torches or battery operated lights (no candles or unprotected flames please!)

For a small fee, some transport can be provided for provisions to the site and for removing rubbish from the site (by prior arrangement with management).
