WAITOMO TOP 10 HOLIDAY PARK

We are situated in the Waitomo Caves village within easy walking distance to most activities. Opposite is a store/cafe which can supply daily milk and bread. Takeaways are also available. The Waitomo Museum of Caves and the Waitomo Education Service are situated directly across the road from our park.

We are a busy tourist park and all our facilities - kitchen, showers, toilets and playground are shared by all guests. Consideration must be shown to other guests at all times. Many of our international guests are first night visitors, tired after long flights and for this reason we ask that noise should not exceed a reasonable level. Complete quietness is required between 10.30pm and 7.00am.

Our pricing for schools is on a full share basis. If a teacher or parent requires a cabin on their own normal rates will apply. On arrival we give you keys for all cabins and a teacher will be given a master set (in case of lock-outs).

Office Hours: 8am to 9pm (emergencies only outside these hours).

Phone: Cellphone coverage is poor. There is a cardphone in the kitchen and cards can be purchased from the office. We will take messages during office hours and these will be displayed on the office notice board.

Laundry: Washing machine and dryers require $2.00 coins. Washing powder is available at the office. $1.00 per pack. A clothesline and pegs are available on site.

Kitchen: The kitchen has a stove, cooktops, microwave, a 4-slice toaster, a household size fridge and freezer and a T.V. A large freezer can be made available if required.

Dishes: We have a full set of cutlery and crockery but most schools prefer each child/adult to bring their own as this is easier to account for. If you use our dishes could you please make a parent available to count the dishes on arrival and departure. We have limited small pots. You will need to bring your own large pots, cooking and serving utensils.

Barbeque: A 3 burner gas barbeque is available free to all guests.

Bathrooms: Our showers are free but operate on a timer system. The timer allows for a 10 minute shower.

Marquee: We have a marquee available for serving food, eating meals and group activities.

Playground: Swings and trampolines are provided. Please supervise the children when they are using these. There is a large reserve next to our park suitable for ball games, rugby, soccer etc. We have a volley ball net and balls are available from the office.

Parking: Bus parking is available at the front of the park. Car parking is available close to the cabins. Please do not block driveways or park on the grass area in the middle of the park. Speed is walking pace only.

Cabins: We have 5 x 4 berth cabins numbered 5, 7, 8, 9,10, and 1 x 2 berth cabin, number 6. These are very basic with two sets of single bunks. We also have 4 x double cabins numbered 1 - 4. These are more comfortable and have a double bed and a single bunk over the top. All beds have a clean fitted sheet, a pillow and a clean pillowslip. A jug and mugs are supplied in the double cabins.

Checkout of the park is 10am on your day of departure.

We look forward to meeting you and hope that you have an enjoyable stay with us and within Waitomo.

Your hosts - Bruce and Julie.
